DAF LF180 gearbox

Simple question…should a DAF LF180 (6 speed manual) have a gate in between 2nd and reverse (to prevent inadvertent selection of reverse instead of 2nd when setting off)…?

No you don’t have to lift the gear lever or push it down, or operate a catch to select reverse. Accidental engagement is prevented by a spring loaded detent so either the spring is weak or someone is being too heavy handed.

Many thanks and apologies for the belated reply. Being very new to the world of HGVs, and the DAF 7.5 tonner, I wanted to try driving it again to see how it was, its just a case of being familiar with it and knowing that too far will put it into reverse (which isn’t great at traffic lights etc!)
