Hi I’m new to the forum and not sure if this is in the right place.
The emmisions light has come on, on my DAF LF 2008 model, it’s a year since this last happened then I took it into the main dealer and they carried out davie check which told them the dosing module lines were restricted. On the invoice it just says they unblocked the dosing lines and nozzle and purged the dosing module. I can remove the nozzle myself and have done and its clear but how do I unblock the dosing lines and purge the dosing module? If I’m doing the job myself I intend to drain the adblue tank and clean it out which is something I expect they never did. This model doesn’t go into limp mode so is driveable but it wants fixing and I think it’s the same problem again as the adblue isn’t now going down. I am hoping to do it myself in a slack time to avoid another £400 bill. Anyone done this job themselves?
It isn’t the lines that block ,it is the actaul EAS unit …So all you have to do is remove the cartridge air filter on the side of the chassis, fill it with boiling water take the pipe off the nozzle ,start the engine and let it idle after a couple of minutes it should start blowing air and hot water out the pipe,if it does then the EAS unit is clear ,if it doesn’t,just leave it running and hopefully it clears…If it doesn’t then the unit is U/S…Also remember you may have a totally different fault
thank for the reply norb. A couple more questions if I may. Do you just buy a new cartridge after running the engine and getting the old one so wet? Have you used this method successfully yourself?
I should have said replace the cartridge …It is standard practise in the network ,It is simpler that the actual DAF way of using hot water .Under warranty conditions units are rejected if they are no traces of water in a unit to prove that we attempted to flush them and it never worked

thanks for that norb, I’ll buy a new cartridge tomorrow and have a go.
dud daf:
just to be clear it is the air dryer cartridge?0
This one?
NO, it`s a smaller cartridge, like a car oil filter.
Oh dear, no wonder it didn’t work, I hope I haven’t made another problem.

You wouldn’t be able to fill the air drier with water …if you have somehow contaminated it just empty the air tanks regulary
It is a small cartridge on generally the O/S side of the chassis with 2 small pipes .1 will be green, and the cartridge points down …
