I know the FTP models are the ones with the light weight midlift axle but just wondered what FTP/FTG stands for. Not an important question just curious!
I don’t know the answer but I would assume whatever it is isn’t in English.
Paul
FTG is the DAF code for midlift twinsteer
FTP is the code for 6x2 midlift with the weight saving axle
FT is the code for 4x2
there is another code (FT?) for 6x2 tag axle
now this is what i have been told be may be totally wrong lol…
F= the driver sits forward of the front axle (pointless as they all do lol)
T/A= refers to whether it is a artic or rigid
P/G/ all the others refers to axle configuration (tag, mid lift, double drive etc etc)
so FTP means the driver sits forward of the axle its a tractor unit and that spercific axle config is a 3 axle with small wheeled lift axle
sorry if its not very understanding its not the easiest thing to explain lol
