If you think the CF’s are gutless, be thankful your not in a 310 day cabbed artic one. However the £££ at the end of the week are worth it

It’ll probably be lucky to see 350,000!! I’ve actually put a couple of snaps up in the 3663 Reading thread of my ride in its latest guise! You obviously haven`t noticed [ round the side of your frilly curtains ] the very very well maintained fleet of Ernest Thorpe Ltd from Yorkshire , a real haulier , with real drivers !!! .
Frilly curtains■■? You must be mistaking me for someone else then as the last time I looked, which was last Friday morning, at 6:15, there wasn’t a hint of frilly’ness! And what’s with the ‘real drivers’ nonsense? I’ve added a picture of ‘my’ unit, see if you can spot any frilly things for me, ta muchly And if you zoom in on the picture, you will notice that it’s a DAF, (with an auto box)…he couldn’t get round me, so I take it ‘hes’ not one of these ‘real drivers’ you speak off

There’s a DAF CF410 in work, nicer than the Axor and some nice touches to the interior, reliability seems to be an issue and I hear people complain about them but I don’t mind them. I expect they’re a bit nicer with a bigger cab (only fitted with a small sleeper cab). Auto gearbox is like any other, nice to have low speed manouverablity compared to the axor. Nice to drive something different but after a week of CF’s and Axors it’s nice to get into one of the older Scanias. CF interior feels better quality than an Axor. Scania DAF and Axor are the only trucks I’ve driven apart from an old Volvo on test so can’t compare to others.
The Axor has a switch for low speed manoeuvres. It’s the 1 on the right in this picture.

Had you any knowledge of the industry you should know that Ernest Thorpe run mostly platform trailers on steel work , on a light hearted point I would say your Swedish Bedford is badly parked .[ wink wink ].
