Hi, I have a 2014 DAF 45.250 that won’t start after someone connected a jump starter incorrectly. The ECU has been repaired at a workshop, and two diodes were replaced. The lights and radio work, but the instrument panel is dark, none of the gauges work, and the starter doesn’t engage. The batteries are new.
Are you sure the ECU is fully repaired?
If you have another vehicle can the ECU be swopped between them?
I assume that all fuses are OK?
thing is it cant be certain that there is a fault caused by connecting the jumo pack incorrectly.
the vehicle presumably wasnt starting then and unless something obvious caused the battery drain (assuming it was actualy flat) like the lights being left on for an extended weekend. there is no way of knowing other than properly diagnosing it.
Thank you very much for your response.
Before the ECU was sent to the workshop, we blew the following fuses: E160 30A ECU, E198 10A central locking, and E062 10A.
When it came back, only E198 and E062 are still blowing, but the ECU fuse is intact.
Unfortunately, I don’t have an ECU from another car that I can swap in, and it’s also very difficult to find one used here in Norway.
Before the jump starter was connected incorrectly, there were lights in the instrument panel, and the gauges and warning lights were working.
