the police in the port of dublin are not interested
in englishmen.

Drivers are supposed to carry there license , dont know what the consequences are if you dont,if any. Plead ignorance if youve any bother.

ok chaps thanks for the info , how much bread n butter shall i bring back then?

il make the list up today.
when i go over myself,
i get orders off the missus and her family,
good job i have an estate car
the back is usually like a laden italian groupage trailer when i am coming back here.

i was running ireland regular last year and never got asked for driving license or passport for the south but when doing the north i was asked for id at birkenhead docks before shipping out

birkenhead is a pain in the โ– โ– โ– โ–  with the security.
i was running in and out of there, just dropping and picking for a while.i was in on average 3 times a day.
they were in the cab more times than not in the same day.
i used some pretty nasty language to a security man one day.
i had it up to my neck with this guy.
he threatened to have me arrested for this.
i got personal with him then and told him i would go to his house and sort him if he didnt get off my case.
i dont like resorting to this kind of behaviour normelly.
but he left me no choice.
it was just one of those things
we didnt know each other, but he never liked me and i never liked him.
he was sacked in the end.there were lots of complaints about him.
i suppose he was the one that never made it into the police force.
we have all met them i am sure.

Technically yes, but Iโ€™ve never been asked to produce since I got here.:smiley:

They wonโ€™t bother you.

in b/head from the stories i heard 3 of the security people from there got sacked 6-8 months ago for not stopping you after you went through the barrier and checking the cab etc
