Has anyone ever had curtains slashed in Rayleigh essex?
I stopped on industrial estate Stadium Way Ind Est, woke up next morning to find two slashes on curtains.
Funny enough they seem to be putting a extension on sainsburys car park, and the builders was there all night working, Just a thought cos they all have sharp tools.
Curtain slashing is a disease that has spread all over. there is absolutely no secure places where it doesent happen never mind industrial estates and laybys.
I had a new trailer slashed carrying coils of wire even though I left the rear doors open in a truckstop
The nearside curtains on my truck have two small slashes in them already. The boss didn’t have them fixed “because they’ll just do it again”. Then he changed his mind and taped them up, and within a week some low-life had cut them again, 6 inches from one of the old cuts!! What was wrong with taking the tape off if they really had to know what was in there ?
Parked at Heston a few weeks ago, under a floodlight, right opposite the entrance to the restaurant, woke up with a blinding headache (which lasted for several days) and this…
Six pallets of Bosch power tools gone,as well as the ruddy great bit of curtain!
Didn’t hear or feel a thing,but I have now purchased a 12/24v K.O. gas alarm.
This Curtain slashing is beyond a joke now , I was parked on Reading Services one night last week, and although i had opened one of the back doors, as the load (empty plastic bottles) finished 3 pallets short of the back, and so wouldnt get damaged if it rained, some low life decided to check that i had the same on the front, thus one tidy unmarked curtain now has 2 holes in it.
Though i feel sorry for the Copper who knocked on my door to tell me, and was presented to the site of me in my boxer shorts
Some one else had been turned over for a load of toiletries which is why the old bill where there.
harry: God is trying to tell you that curtainsiders are obsolete in their present form…
Whilst stationery .
Try hijacking me on the move , getting 44t up you arse , rammed off the road big time .I only take overnight breaks in our own depots , if that’s not possible then it’s on the services near a camera if i,m loaded . If it’s empty equipment the i couldn’t care less to be honest . Any seasoned lorry hijacker/thief should know if the axle is raides it’s got ■■■■ all on it worth taking , in my case anyway .
Ended up in a layby just south of Newark on the A1 thursday night with 2 pallets of stable doors on and now I’ve got yet another cut in the nearside curtain, 2 inches from one of the old ones AGAIN !
I’ve just suggested that we cut a big rectangle out of both sides, replace it with clear plastic and paint a big arrow with “If you really must know what’s inside, look here”
I know they are not my curtains and all that but it still makes me mad.

Thats not a bad idea as long as you dont carry high value loads it sounds like a plan to me.
Don’t know about the value Jammy but 90% of our loads are either metal lockers, you know for schools and gyms etc or “raw” chairs going to upholsterers. It would be nearly impossible to get either of them out through the curtains no matter how big a hole you cut and you would have a hell of a job getting them out the back because the tail lift is in the way. So yep, I reckon it’s a goer !! It’ll never happen but I thought it was a good idea anyway.
