Thanks for the replies never realise HE were so large!
Regarding Donnans fishing boats how many did they own? (how many lorries did they own?) Maybe someone might post a photo of one on here of one of the trawlers. It seems as if Scott Trawlers are a similar business to Donnans they even have a smart fleette of about five top of the range Scanias.
A little bit of trivia when I knew Lawsons about 30 years ago they considered buying a trawler.
C.G.said H.E.are based at FPL buildings at Cargo , which is basically the same area as Harker.Georgeking i also remember delivering fuel to Donnans on Whitehaven quay way back in the 70s-early 80s, the forman on the quay was a good bloke watched you down the quay not a easy job reversing an artic right to the tanks on the end ,i always came away with good bit of fish.Vic.
Hiya Vic, IIRC when we took fuel to H.E, we turned left just before the little service station at Harker, went through the trees over the motorway and turned right, I always said it was at Harker if anyone asked directions. Be good, Mizzo.
We got to keep them from over the west right Les,but i think it was our side of the motorway,Vic.
Hiya Vic, you are of course right again, and I am of course wrong again!!! Mizzo.
Now Les,i had to think a bit for that one!! did you ever do them in the old days when there was about 5 under ground tanks, not the best of jobs then?
