Hello georgeking,
Here is a list of Hauliers who work out of Ectona at Workington (now know as Eastman).
Irvings Transport (Mealsgate), TDG, Iso - Tanks, T R Handley’s (Kirby Shephen) & Duncan Hill (Maryport).
I’ve never seen Burridge’s or Stobart’s in there.
Your queston about Smiths of Whitehaven, only the Salterbeck Plant remains (now owned by Alcan). Haulage there is shared between Stobarts, Burridges & Iso - Tanks. If you what to know or see any photos of there lorries, I recomend buying a book called: Smiths of Whitehaven (very cheap on Amazon).
Hope this helps.

The late Stan Robson surely puts “The Fast One” in the shade as far as ■■■■■■■■ hauliers go! But no,the most famous ■■■■■■■■ is defo John Peel the famous huntsman!! He will be turning in his grave now with the hunting ban thats in force( but not for long now I hope!) The Fell packs are “working” hunts, for a good reason, not the mamby pamby “stuck up” mounted packs from other parts of the country. Foxes can wreak terrible damage on a field full off new born lambs and the only humane way to keep them in check in Lakeland is the fell packs that are followed on foot by the Huntsmen and their followers for miles ,up hill and down Mountain!! Woof woof!! Bewick.I remember John Peel Dennis,he let his hounds lick his horn in the morning.
Tally - ho old bean.
Wasn,t his full name Ken John Peel …I,ll get me coat
