You are far more eloquent and knowledgeble about these things than me “george”,sorry I forgot “Sebber”(Sedbergh) who in their own way I believe were a bit miffed about being absorbed into “■■■■■■■■ at the time as they were in the West Riding of Yorkshire, but had always used Kendal as their nearest large town. cheers Dennis. PS is Dearham in N.I. or Scotland?

Hi georgeking and Dennis,
Thanks for the ( eventual ) mention of Sedbergh. You are correct about the new-to-be county of ■■■■■■■ not wanting Sedbergh to be included. We Sedberghians didnt want to
join Lancashire ( remember " The War Of The Roses " from centuries back ) !!! The W.R.C.C. was being
disolved ` into North Yorkshire so we became ■■■■■■■■■ by no other choice .
Thanks for the mention.
Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Did you squirt it or hit it with the hose pipe “H”? Both methods are an offence now I believe!! Personally I’d have given it the 5th lacehole of my shoe up it’s “jacksie” !! Dennis.

hiya,
Dennis would prefer the toe up the jacksie method but not nippy enough these days, me not the moggie, could do with a Sturmy Archer fitting to the old Zimmer frame then nowt will be safe and that includes the gorgeous ladies but only when my “Old Lady” is out of sight or she’d let my tyres down big time.
thanks harry long retired.

When I were a lad the old weather forecast on the wireless said - "■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ District of Lancashire,Lancashire,Cheshire. T’other side was Northumberland,Durham,Yorkshire - sometime East of the Pennines - North Derbyshire,North Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
I never realised that Sedbergh was at one time in t’West Riding, always thought it was in Westmorland, county town being Appleby. So Carlisle would be t’capital of ■■■■■■■■■■ then.
Sheffield was in the West Riding at one time but the county town was Wakefield which ■■■■■■ Leeds folk off.
Anyroad, way things are going in t’IOM with you UK buggers nicking our VAT we could soon be part of Dumfries and Galloway(nearest),Lancashire ( ) or ■■■■■■■ - I’ll settle for ■■■■■■■ so we can have the craic.

Edward Stobart was voted the most ever successful ■■■■■■■■■ there was a book written about him being the most successful ■■■■■■■■ by some top author. The book is called “The Eddie Stobart Story” if you want to know about running a haulage business then this is the book for you.
I’m having a few days out at Crick doing some spotting.
Can anybody recommend a decent B&B in the Crick area, I know about the IBIS Hotel but I want to stay there for a couple of nights, not buy the place!
Cheers

“The Eddie Stobart Story” was one of the finest works of fiction ever written! I was given a copy for a “■■■■ take” but only managed to read a few pages, what a load of “■■■■■■■■”!! And for the record John Peel the well known Huntsman was the most famous “■■■■■■■■■ and he was born and bred in Caldbeck the next village along from where “The fast One” decended to earth in the first Tautliner with his tablets of stone bearing the Ten Commandments of “Ducking and Diving”!!! Come on lads I’m sure your fertile minds will be able to come up with all 10! starters for 10----No 1 "Thou shalt cut the bottom out of any job you quote for, thus rendering said job un-economic! 2)?
What about William Wordsworth, born in Cockermouth,he was a famous ■■■■■■■■■■ lad tha knows, long before ESL. He used to stay at his grannie’s house in Penrith, wonder if he was on a trunk changeover?
And what about Stan Laurel, born in Ulverston which is in ■■■■■■■ now, does he count or have I got mesen into a fine mess (scratching head). I think he worked at Glaxo 'cos I’m sure he loaded me with wet acetone there once.
