hiya,
Nice, and power steering too, be no need to rock this old girl about to change lock when putting the “pup” in a tight spot, I never drove one of these but plenty of the older versions when PS would have been a boon, but i did have muscles in those days and needed them, muscles turned into bat wings now.
thanks harry long retired.

i don’t think dennis is up yet , or he would be doing his nut about the state of that sheet harry . he must be like a gardner , starts first touch , but takes a long time to warm up !!! cheers , dave

hiya,
Hadn’t noticed the horrible attempt at sheeting,Dave bet Possy and Dennis never turned out with a mess like that and of course it would have been pulling the all important drag which would have been as equally well wrapped up, howay Dennis get out of your pit we can’t get the staff these days you’re driver awaits fully equipped with the knotted rope just to knock the cobwebs off you understand.

I haven’t the heart to criticise Ray who re-created the Brady Octopus so painstakenly! However, what I believe has been done is the sheet edge has been kept above the chock rail because there was lettering along it,which was quite common years ago but if the motor spent most of its time loaded it was a wasted excercise, and was in Brady’s case!!! Us “old salts” (well “H” anyway!!) know that the edge of the main sheet was always “nipped” under the bottom edge of the chock otherwise if not you had a bloody great billow down each side(not that Possy and me ever had a billow you understand).I can only claim to have seen other motors with billowing sheets from the Octopus cab!!! Cheers Dennis.

I’m sorry, I didn’t know you lived in London. Have got a photo of the Forsters wagon you talk about?
Thanks

EDDIE STOBART FAN:

Bewick:
This is an ex Markley 112 I bought for handy money and it did us a decent job once it had passed through our workshops and was “squared up” eh! cheers Dennis.

Never knew there was a transport company called Bewick, were they famous?

Are you in the “Day room” at the moment, or have you just managed to wiggle your arms out of the restraints to type? Yes, Bewick’s was well known, rather than “famous” as you put it, although what fame has to do with being a decent company with a reputation for doing the job properly is anybody’s guess. I don’t know quite how you people get this fixation for all things red white and green, but you really should consider some kind of professional help, as its obviously affected your ability to think rationally.

I’m pleased that you have a hobby because you sound as though you won’t have a bird, I should think you’re quite content with the esl spotters book and a big box of Kleenex.

Good luck with the medication though hopefully you’ll be ok soon, the only other option will be electric shock therapy, or EST as its known. Hang on… EST…Electric Shock Therapy, Eddie Stobart Trucks…wow is that a coincidence?? :open_mouth:

Bewick (I think it was them, red and white Scanias and Volvos from ■■■■■■■■ along with Barnes and Tipping and others, became part of Tinnelly Transport the rest is history.

hiya,
EST could stand for Eddie Stobart’s Trampers which would be another joke which has been well and truly covered on another thread long dead.
thanks harry long retired.

Hi ■■■■■■■ Gill
This photograph was taken at Truckfest Scotland quite a few years ago, unsure exact year though.
This IVECO replaced the 2 - axled unit shown earlier. IIRC , the Volvo F H was the last artic owned.
Sorry about the darkness caused by the sun`s cast shadow .
Cheers, cattle wagon man.
