Thompsons plant hire ex moss bay metals
Hi Hodge, I recall a Moss Bay wagon coming to the sheet metalworkers yard next to mine to take away scrap one day a good few years ago as the driver swung down out of the cab holding onto the steering wheel there was a mighty bang, on investigation the drag link had fallen off the drop arm. It was a miracle that he had negotiated the main street and turned into the yard without it coming off on the move.

They were just dragged out of the bushes for the sale Dave, that’s why the number plate
is jammed in the front. Here’s one that was a runner at the sale.
What a cracker this Foden is, I really love this photo.

About 10 years ago there was a feature about him and the wagon in one of the trucking magazines although I can’t remember which one. What I Can remember is that the photo shoot was in the layby at the end of the dual carriageway at Beck Whythop. Alongside Bass Lake!
Hi Hodge, thats Robbie with Volvo at Speytri. The double decker with the all over Border Television advert dates the photo about 1984.
