Seriously we’re all here as we share a common interest in ■■■■■■■■ haulage, past and present, and the bickering is nothing short of a school playground! Surely there’s some common ground we can all find? ■■■■■■■■ Gill’s likes and interests may differ slightly from some others but he’s shown a lot of interest in the history of haulage which is something a lot of his age have sweet ■■■■ all interest in, and it’s the likes of himself who are going to keep it alive for the next generation. We should be helping, not berating him for it.

Quite agree, my pics are available to anybody and if they wish to copy them and stick then on ebay etc then I’m not bothered (probably flattered!). However I have a whole collection of TILCON pics from the Skipton area on CD Rom, they are not mine but were given to me by a third party so I dare not put them up on the forum incase the original owner (who I do not know) objects to that! Some folk are easily upset it seems.

Totally agree. I read on one thread a chap would love to have a picture of one particular lorry.I knew I had got one some where that I had got from the internet so I posted it. I wasn’t trying to rip anybody off,was just happy for the chap who was looking for it.
As for banter and taking the pee,this was always a huge part of the lorry driving scene for all the 50 years I was involved in the industry,and I was always happy to participate. There is a trend now though, by some,who can’t see it for what it is,and resort to plain nastiness,which I find very sad.

It appears that Bewick brings out the best (& worst) of people on here, all this animosity seems to stem around Bewick & Cattle Wagon Man. OK he was a good haulier, no better or worse than many hauliers around Penrith. His comments about competing hauliers are a bit inappropriate at times, so he should take comments about himself with a thick skin, i.e. “live by the sword die by the sword”.
Regarding young CG he should be encouraged & taught by experienced old timers on here, he certainly should not be mocked like he is.
The photos of “Cattle Man” is not the “Cattle Wagon Man” Mackereth who posts on this forum, this is him, at least it is the person who is seen at events throughout the region.
The first pages of this thread were pure quality, lets aim to get back to that level again & cut out all this dribble.

Any contribution Dennis makes on any other haulier is worthwhile , but like others , he is not a fan of a certain haulier from the Carlisle area . So what , hardly a crime is it , but others seem to take offence if not everyone kisses the green scourges backside .
Reread the nonsense posted earlier relating to Dennis , then try to blame him , get a grip.
How would you respond to such crap . Totally irrelevant & uncalled for
Oh , the wonderful CG involved himself in that , that boy does not seem to know whether his arse is punched or bored , if he were to mature a bit & think through what he were to post , then some of what went on earlier would certainly be avoided . He is not averse to making little comments & to try to provoke a reaction

No it is not nonsense that I write, look what was said about my beloved Burnholme Transport & their drivers, look what has been said about another old Penrith firm called Barnett & Graham, are people connected to these companies supposed to sit back & say nothing in return?
Regarding CWM his last post on here was a negative comment about DTR & he also called this Nelly fella a coward, again do you want people to sit back & say nothing.
