Is it Derek Tolson,Paul? I seem to recall from the '50’s he came from T’penna his dad drove a mobile bakery van,was it Studholmes?They had a Vauxhall Cresta Mk1,not one of the long ones I was only a lad and the memory is very hazy eh!I think I can recall Tols coming into Ireby and sniffing round the Birds He maybe even married one later but after my time,but he seems to have moved into the village and I believe he lives in a house that one of my uncle and aunts used to live in.But you’ll know more than me eh! Well at least it’s a far nicer place than Waverton,and I believe it has declared its-self an “Eddie Spotter” free zone which would prevent you from living there “CG” so that fact in its-self is a bonus to the good residents of Ireby eh!,Anyhow,you’d never get past Flecky 'cause Tom would have you and chase you back to Waverton Bewick.

Hi folks, first post on this excellent site and I had to quote this photo. This is my motor being towed back by Furness Commercials once again. It happened numerous times. In fact the rumour was that had I not been made redundant then they were going to invite us to their xmas party. we wouldnt have been in this photo as we were always dropped off at home in Kendal. Good service.

Well Bewick, I know we don’t always see eye to eye but I have to agree with you, Ireby is a far nicer place than Waverton!!!

It may be a Eddie Spotter free zone but when at Ireby, I spot Boyes marra!!! So, it isn’t a CG free zone yet haha

I’ve got Marras living in Ireby “CG”,so I’m going to give them the “wire” about you so look out next time you venture there,they are handy lads with pick shafts Anyhow,now you acknowledge that Ireby is a far superior place to live than Waverton why don’t you visit Hesket Newmarket which going by the “sons”(and rate cutters) that crappy place has produced you should be made most welcome in your Punto (supposing of course that your motor can get you there) Cheers Bewick.
