Have you got a photo of the wagons you’re talking about, because I (think) I can remember the ERF, but a photo would help?
Kindest Regards

the 54g could have been one of jazzers he sold one to radcliffes or ratcliffes, i painted the name out the driver was moving as i was still painting it was orm 1?9 m, the leyland that whent about the same time was a lynx, but walter allison from westmoor end had ergo,s, an he wasnt impressed, i think they might have been beavers, but he lost all his photos in a house fire.
no it wasnt it was rao, the other 16 tonner was orm 98 ?
HI .YUNGNOT .We did by the E R F from J W Ratcliff Ashton in Makerfield it had an alloy dropside body and a fold down bunk over the bonnet sorry cant find any photos of them .But have loads of all our others seddons E R F s atkis fodens you name them ,but since i have been put out to grass i am trying to take this up but have not learnt how to put photos on thanks for your help every one .Regards BARRY WADDY
yep thats the one driven at the time by peter storey, he fitted the bunk (felt left out as the other drivers had merc 1418 and 1924 lps cabs,) the other rigid was driven by alan dunstan, he learnt me to tie hitches as i was left handed/ still am.

HI Youngnud. That info was great thanks .you may be able to help again think it was M XS or MSX 10 L a seddon steel day cab with 8 X L B it was in Woodhouse of LANCASTER colours but no name on it .who was jazzer .A haulage co .MY nephew put some photos of some of our old motors on Wagonpics .com under Waddys Haulge .YOURS BARRY WAD
msx i think thats lothian area, woodhouse used to buy all johnston bros of gilcrux (jazzer) gardners in the 70s, all the erf,s that got replaced with mercs went to woodhouses, other stuff went to ratcliffes, young james used to deal with ratcliffe a lot, as johnstons had a scrap job and the trailers were fit nowt else so he bought 2nd hand and used the new ones on the dairy, nmu and marchon work.
HI Youngnad .Thanks for that are you still on the road or out to grass like myself once loaded out of a big soap powder factory at Whitehaven for London three drops .For B R S the depot was on a steep bank some where . I bought a load of powder and gallon containers of soap liqued all stamped reject dead cheap supose it was compensation for waiting 6 hours to get loaded .cheers Barry wad
