It was sad news to hear that Colin Lawson the son of Jim Lawson of Lawsons Haulage passed away last weekend aged 47. My thoughts are with his family.
Same here ,i have good memories of delivering fuel to Jims at the old mill way back,i think it was Colin used to ride around the yard in an old Volvo car when he was only a lad.

Just a short note to express our condolences to Jim and his family from all at Alberti Ltd/R.T Keedwell - I think it was Colin who took his licence the same time as me at RTIB Carlisle as we are the same age - he gave us a great laugh that week with Willy Brown teaching us.
The line I remember him best for was Willy asking what you would do if you were in a waggin an’ you started to skid down an icy hill at speed?
Colin’s reply? “I’d wake up mi marra in t’bunk 'coz he’s nivva seen a bad wreck!”
Classic ■■■■■■■■ humour from a character who will be sorely missed.

HI.Shortstuff .I was just reading on your site abount you working Cargills Penrith my brother in law Mike Morris worked there for a while .Used to travel up from North Wales early hours of Sunday and return late fri night loved every minute of it .When i was on the road i was loading on Birkenhead Docks one of Cargills was behind i got to talk to the driver nice bloke very sunburnt lot of gold round his neck and wrists nice to chat .Regards Barry Waddy
