Well “CG” I dun’t think thoo could carry a hundred weight of cwol eh!,but when I was about 8 I was bagging coal at Leegate( do you know where that is?) and dragging hundredweight bags to the side of the platform for Joe to deliver,I think I was about a nine year old when I carried my first hundredweight bag of coal eh!.But nowadays the “pencil necker” coalmen are only allowed to carry 25kg bags, but these might still be a bit heavy for you eh! Cheers Bewick.

Hello Bewick
Yes marra, I certainly know where Leegate is and where the old station is.
I’m sure the old station owners have just had a revamp and have done up the old station platform.
So, you’ll remember the Baggrow Loop Line will you that ran over Aikbank?
25kg bags would be nothing marra. I did some work at a Garden Centre a year or two back and I was lifting 75kg bags of compost all day long.
Moving them from the warehouse to the shop floor

Nice photo CWM,in the late 80’s I bought three secondhand P112 Sleeper cabbed Scanias ex J R Wilson Penrith with consecutive reg.nos.B130/1/2 JAO,I can’t just recall the reason they were sold but I seem to remember that they may have been ceasing operating.I got the first two and they were clean as " whistles" but I had to wait a couple of weeks or so for the last one B132 and it looked like a Rottwieler had lived in the cab,but it cleaned up well and they were three excellent fleet tractors from memory.Cheers Dennis.

Now “CG” are you sure this “garden centre” was not a model one in your back garden eh! and you are omitting the decimal point frae’ between the 7 and the 5 Bewick.
Now then , Dennis , dont be too hard on ■■■■■■■■ Gill
s weight-carrying duties at the Garden Centre.
Apparently , one of C.G.s jobs there was spreading the
lawn fertilizer` for posh people who owned quite large gardens.
C.G. was fed up of using a wheelbarrow ,…so he devized a way of making the work much easier.
Lo and behold,…hes now a contender for 2013
s The Apprentice
.
By utilizing the towing jaws on a lawn tractor , just admire his towable lawn spreader
.
It`s even self-powered ,…meaning it can be operated behind his Fiat Punto.
The tractor ( unit ) is awaiting the Stobart wrap
and the go faster
stripes.
Oh !..I forgot to mention that C.G. is to name the tractor…" Georgina Louise Alexandria " …because
he was hoping the Royal Baby would be a girl.
Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Hello CWM
I wish you hadn’t leaked this photo marra: John Deere have been trying to get into my shed to photograph the tractor fork weeks
!
I think your a bit out of date marra
The Apprentice has finished for this year (mist out again) !
As for working in gardens, I’m good at anything particle but planting plants, is definitely a no no for me !
Unfortunately CWM, one of your facts isn’t quite right:
But, your quite correct marra, the tractor will be cab wrapped and will have on the side the latest Stobart venture slogan:
“Trans ~ Store ~ Spreading”
Would you like your garden done CWM? I work at £8.00 a hour and I’ll travel anywhere (providing the tractor and my Punto will get me there)
Kindest regards

It’s like day release at the nut house in here sometimes.
One for Bewick and CWM I think, for ages my families been trying to remember the name of an old Haulage firm that used to be based at Gilpin Bridge. Grey and Maroon wagons, Definetly not Saunders as we’ve thought of that and they’re from Spark Bridge.
And to keep it on topic with Photos, here’s a ■■■■■■■■ Heavyweight that was guarding our village the other morning
here’s a couple of tippers belonging to father and son Ken and Mark Little, the Volvo has gone now the DAF I not sure if they still have this.regards prattman.

Hello prattman
Excellent photo marra
Yes, the Volvo has long gone but the 05 reg DAF CF rigid tipper is still going strong.
I’ve seen it twice this month and it doesn’t look it’s age
Little’s have also got a PX12 reg DAF CF rigid tipper and a 55 reg Isusu Grafter rigid tipper

How long did it take you to build that stock heap Paul ? I think when Aurther Coulthard started up on his own ( I think he had been Quarry manager at Clintz Bothel IIRC) One of my uncles went with him as his plant fitter, that would be in the late 50’s IIRC.Cheers Dennis.
