Is it still illegal to have it in the cab when entering the UK.Sold all over Europe in truckstops,Customs man years ago said it was classed as a weapon, not sure which class though.Be interesting to see if attacked in the night in the UK lay bys,by fuel or trailer theives if the judge, would say the driver was taking reasonable action to defend his/herself from injury or loss of load/cargo.CMR and goods in transit insurance for the load,is it worth getting stabbed for it.
In the UK CS spray is classified as a section 5 firearm and as such is illegal to possess without lawful authority.
We have had such discussions on here before , the CS spray sold abroad is
forrbidden in the UK; HOWEVER which judge would call
you a criminal if you have to hand a FLY //MOSQUITO;or Deodorant spray for personal
use whilist in the cab a automatic reaction to grab the first item and use it
can not surely be called a criminal offence■■? Be safe use the law not break the law

When I was in the army doing chemical warfare training they had a canister that when sprayed around the room turned our chemical detector paper blue, this meant it was a nerve agent( the “reason” we went to war against Iraq), we all got our gas masks on PDQ.
It really was a nerve agent, but not quite as dangerous as we thought, it was fly spray. just goes to show

Portsmouth Customs relieved me of a can last year, said it was illegal in UK.
Also, a couple of years ago, Dover Customs confiscated my Baseball bat. They considered it an offensive weapon.

I guess that just leaves your 5 battery maglight then
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it - the places where CS, knives, self-defence etc etc are all legal, seem to be a lot less violent than the UK… Hmmm… maybe criminals “don’t like it up 'em” as Clive Dunn’s Dad’s Army character would have said. Hmm… who’d 've thought?. …

If you also have a baseball and glove, then you have proof that it’s ‘sport equipment’. A baseball bat on it’s own is useless for baseball, so can only be a weapon (in their eyes at least). Sports equipment is clearly for use when a group of drivers end up weekended somewhere. We naturally have a game of baseball rather than going to the bar all day
Small fire extinguisher (powder) close at hand just in case I knock my kettle over and a hammer for finishing the job er I mean tapping my wheel nuts on my walk round check
I used to carry a big can of that horrible wasp killer spray, vile stuff with all sorts of warnings on it and used to spray with the force of a crop spray, but was never taken from me - also a baseball bat AND a ball, this was looked at but never taken, as said - we have to do something on a weekend away.
hiya,
what category does the jack handle and wheel brace constitute they was always always floating around in the passenger footwell just in case i had a puncture you understand.

Agreed, Sat morning I saw a can of CS being prised out of the fingers of one of eastern European colleagues at the x-ray machine in euro tunnel. Talking to the bloke that operated it he said the only “weapon” they wont get sniffy about is a can of lighter petrol and a lighter, as u need fluid for a lighter!
But as Toby said the load/truck ain’t worth it, the boss can buy another truck with insurance, but their aint another you! I keep a grab bag over night with the important things in, and if I’m “hit” grab it and run! Sorry but my life is more important than a trailer load of whatever.

I did explain that the reason I had no baseballs (nearly said no balls) was that I had lost them during our last game.
Still confiscated my bat though.

Is Cs Spray same with the pepper spray?

Is Cs Spray same with the pepper spray?
they are different substances, but both come under the same laws.
A can of EasyStart can do the trick…
