Christmas booze up JCW’S 1993 in Harold Hill the last photo is
Peter Wisdoms reaction when he got the bill
During my time with JCW’S we was running down to Ancona with UNHCR
stuff for Sarajevo it went to a big UN compound at Ancona airport and this
particular trip we had to wait for a UN order so we could be unloaded on
the third day of waiting we was so bored we asked the crew of one of
the C130’s (Hercules) if we could go over to Sarajevo with them much to
our suprise they said ok, issued us with flak jackets and of we went the flight was about a hour each way and the plane was on the ground in Sarajevo no
more than 15 minutes because of the snipers, during take of the plane was
hit by seven 50 calibre machine gun rounds and you can see by our faces
we did not go back for a second run

Hi Bobby. My husband Terry Waters aka Benji says thanks for the reply and he will be in touch soon. He works for Bentons in Sibsy and has been there for nearly 2 years and although he misses going over the water, he is settled and happy living in the UK. He remembers many of the drivers you named and loves your photo’s as I do too. I will have to put some pics of my old Scania 142 on the posts and pics of the places I went in the late 90’s, France, Spain, Portugal, whilst working for Brintons. Liz
