Im confused i have just looked at my cpc record online and the information there doesn’t make sense to me.
there is no mention of my current card that i have in my sticky little paw. It just says it starts on 25/11/24 and expires 5 years later. Underneath that it says it was issued last Thursday (22/02/24).
under that it has the courses i did for want of a better name. However the first 35 hours it says used and the last 2 courses are invalid. I get that I only need 35 hours but for example the 21 hours i got for the first part of the adr i did will expire long before the card does (august 26) where as the 2 that are invalid would of lasted until 2027 and 2029 respectively.
This is hard to explain without seeing the record first-hand (no, I’m not asking you to post it here)
How did you obtain your current DQC (proper name for that blue card)?
Did you get it after doing your Initial DCPC (Mod 2 and Mod 4) as a new driver?
In which case that doesn’t show up; the training record is for Periodic DCPC ie hours in the classroom.
If you got it by 35 hours in the classroom, those are the hours “used”, OR, if you had a card, then sat the 35 hours and they have been allocated to the next card, they may say “used” .
Any “invalid” hours may have been because you sat more courses before you received your newest card, if you had received your card THEN sat more courses, these ought to count towards the next DQC.
For example, my current DQC expires 09/09/24 (like many others here, this is the Common Renewal Date for those of us who were driving before the DCPC became a requirement from 09/09/09 onwards) My last 7 hours for this current card was done May 2019. New card kicked in 09/09/19.
For a variety of reasons I got my next 35 hours done by mid-August 2021. So my next card is already in the bag and I’m good until 2029. However… those next 35 hours are also showing as “used” even though they will not actually be truly used until my next card (covering me up to 2029) arrives sometime before 09/09/24
Doing more hours can’t invalidate hours already logged. If I logged more hours before my new card arrives (which is coming in May, rather than September) they would be invalid automatically, because they would be within the 5 year period of validity.
Here’s what it says at the top of my training record printout. If your’s does not give the date of the issue of the next card, I would conclude that to mean you do not have 35 valid hours logged towards your next card.
Coops, did you order a replacement card or something?
The card is different from the CPC qualification period.
From anecdotal evidence, if all the modules are in place, a new card is issued around 4 months early. It still expires in line with the CPC qualification period, so the validity period of the card will be 5 years 4 months (typically - not always, I know, I know).
If a replacement card is issued, the issue date will be the date it is issued and the expiry will be in line with your 5 year cycle.
Having checked my card, the four months may be a misnomer. Mine was sent out closely following my last module the last time, which happened to be about 4 months before expiry.
In any case, they do seem to send out early, but your 5 year expiry is maintained.
I’ve recently done mine if this makes sense.
If you have a valid card and complete your 35 hours it counts towards your next card.
Any more hours completed before your card renews become invalid and basically don’t count.
As was somebody on one my courses doing her adr as well. She mentioned was on more courses and was told to cancel them or postpone them as be pointless as adr course will take her over the 35 hours.
Once you have achieved 35 hours rest don’t carry over there just invalid… have wait for your new card to start then you can do courses again
The first section in your screenshots isn’t about your card, that is about the fact that you have satisfied CPC requirements for that five years.
It looks to me like a card has been issued early, which will mean it will cover from the date of issue until 24/11/2029. All will be revealed when the card arrives I guess?
So why would you get your card 9 months early, and others 4 months early - search me!
So first card covers 2019 to 2024, I guess you’ve done courses since then, it may be your new card is on the way, hence the 22/02/24 issue date. Keep an eye on your postbox early next week
