courier exchange

Any one ever singed up to this site
courierexchange.co.uk/
Do you know what they charge as a subscription
what kind of price do they work on per mile
How is the work allowcated; is it done on cheapest quote or do they just stick with the regular guy on the site

Do you have to show them a GTI insurance cirtificate to join
And how cheap could I get GTI for
Can you have your GTI insurance in monthly instalments so you could cancel after 1 month if you dont need it any more

Thanks
B&D

You are looking at around £500+ a year to join.
Work is normally given to not always the cheapest but goes on feedback as well.
You do need to show proof of GIT insurance and PL. Not sure what GTI insurance is so cant help with that.

Right cx as its otherwise known work is not allocated you bid on work they want half of the fees upfront there is no guarantee of work so you could spend 400 quid on it and get nothing yes you have to up load you van insurance (hire and reward) and also your goods in transit (git) and public liability to them before you can bid on any work

Now before you get excited the work is from other couriers it is excess work that they cannot. Cover dispite what they say about having only reputable couriers on the site there are those on there that have gone bust and started up again under a new name owing subbies a lot of money you take your chances as with anything in business Don’t just really on this site for your work and you are competing against people who will quite happy take work to cover desiel And nothing else

I know my boss is using it, mostly to feel empty returns. He says it is not a gold mine, and he would not hope it to be his main source of work, but for the use he needs it, it pays for itself.

Strangely no, not that one but there are a couple from Chepstow and Gwent area to start

Are there any other freight exchange sites that you dont have to pay a subscription fee for and you dont have to show your insurance documents

Why are you not keen you show your insurance details? That would, at least prove you had cover on the day you applied for work.

Let me think about that…

Dont worry too much about showing your insurance details as they are vague & dont go into detail but can show GIT ( good in transit ) limit then if someone does place a load with you then if anything does happen then they at least know you are covered

Or do you have something to hide

Remember everyone is in the same position

There are better ways of finding backloads than having to pay someone like cx, if you do a regular run somewhere then look up local hauliers and approach them for backloads, some hauliers get stuck when a customer asks them to move just a couple of pallets.
