firstly if i have put this in the wrong place MODS please feel free to move it and let me know where it has gone.
first question: i started work on sunday at 00.01 after having a rest24. i have six days to work available to me so that should mean finish by 23.59 on friday night to take a rest45. right?
i have all today off (day off to see family visiting me) so does that mean i now have to finish by 23.59 saturday night for a rest45?
secondly: i know if i use one of my extra driving hours it has to be ‘paid back’ the next week BUT how is it repaid? is in hours or minutes? if i’ve used 5 minutes to get home does that mean i loose a whole hour next week?

You don’t have to repay driving hours, you can extend your driving time by 1 hour twice per working week

You must begin your weekly rest no later than 144 hours after finishing you previous one, so 00:01 Sunday means you have until 00:01 Saturday to begin your next weekly rest.

If the 24 you mention was your only rest for last week you now have until 23:59 Sunday to begin a full weekly rest. The rest today means you begin a new period of 144 hours until your next one must be taken, which would take you some time next Tuesday if you start back tomorrow. However, if you only had a reduced last week you will require a full for this week which is why you would need to start it by 23:59 Sunday.

When you use one of your two extended driving days allowed each week there is nothing to pay back. The only thing in the current regulations that requires paying back is reduced weekly rest.
