Well where do I begin
5 years ago I had a work accident and suffered with PTSD Post-traumatic stress disorder. I am ok now got over it
Sent of for my provisional licence in November got a letter back in December saying they need to get in touch with my doctor. He sent every thing back saying he thinks I am ok to drive lgvs. Then got a letter back saying it will take up to 8 weeks’ dos not look good to me could this stop me getting a licence
Age 40
Please advice 
If DVLA medical are concerned then they will ask you to undergo more tests paid by them

That should give you hope as he’s in a much better position to advise than anyone on here although the DVLA do have a reputation for being strict. The 8 week wait seems the norm for these issues so I wouldn’t be too concerned about it.
Yeah, same happened to me for different reason. I had Hodgkins and have been in complete remission for some time. When I applied this was mentioned on the medical form, and I got same letter. They contacted doctor and hospital consultant and a few weeks later got a letter that I was good to go, but contact them if health changes. I suspect that if you put ANYTHING marginally abnormal down your application goes for manual review and the standard letter arrives, which we both got.

According to Find a theory test centre - GOV.UK you have a few to choose from (Boston, Kings Lynn, Grimsby, Lincoln & Grantham)
the “8 weeks” was more like 8 months for me due to having had a serious rta whilst driving a van.
I am 10% disabled through PTSD (since July 1995). I had my 1st LGV medical, with my own GP, back in Feb 2012. Did not cause any problems whatsoever. Went on to pass C+E in July.
Don’t worry about it, get on with your studying, enjoy your training and expect to read of your test success later in the year

Quick update phoned DVLA on Friday to see if there is any progress. He says no not yet will be about 3 weeks.
Have I done the right thing I have sent of for my digi card at the same time but will not get it pending? The outcome,
I don’t know if anybody can help what I want to do is whilst DVLA sort out my licence I would like to be a drivers mate do not want paying just want to see how it do and to pick your brains.

So does my brother in law who has 30+ years experience and he is struggling to get 2 days a week on average and that is being prepared to travel over 50+ miles !!
When and if I pass I would like to do tramping I will go anywhere for work it just to get some understanding to help me train.
This mite help your brother
In Boston lincolnshire there is a lgv class1 job going I think its for kimes my friend just had a hart attack so lost his job for six months but he’s not going back

That is the sort of work he looks for and even comes as far as Leicester to do just that

Just to let you know I got my licence in the post to day yaahooo 
now the journey is on. 
Need to book my theory test and hp, I waited for this for so long done my DVD for three months, getting average 92/100 on theory and 82% on HP now bring it on
I hope this gives some hope to those waiting to get word from the lovely D.V.L.A
and i got my driver card to wooop wooop
