Hi people my mate has asked me my opinion on buying a 8 wheel tipper I’ve told him I wouldn’t myself but want to try and give him an idea of costs my list consists of
Finance for a truck
Insurance
Road tax
Parking rent
Maintenence inspections
Waste carriers licence
Fors membership as he is london based
O licence costs
Then fuel tyres and maintenance and repairs and a small cost for stationary administration tacho downloads etc.
Can anyone think of anything I’ve missed.
He will need a vehicle (small van) to get to and from work, collect parts etc, which will have the same type of running costs that the lorry has. While this is a business expense and tax deductable, the costs need to be part of his overheads calculation since otherwise they will be coming out of taxed income.
