wanted to find out how much other on here have payed for there pratical training. dose £ 760 for 3 days at 4 hours a day + £ 115 test fee. breaks down into £253 a day makeing it £63 an hour. plus 115 test fee on top. dose this sound about right ? any thought would be welcomb
Please, please, please don’t go on the cheapest. Go for what you feel is best for you. I knew i might need a week and i took a week paying £1150 for Cat C.
Get a quote and do research for the best trainer in your area.
thanks for the advise, I was abit surprized when thay said 3 days then take the test i was sure i would need a weeks worth or atleast 4 days then the test one 5 day, not sure if there just trying to squeez me in to a busy time
other thing that makes me think this is the cost on the training fee list thay gave me said £950 for 4 days plue test on 5th £115. but now there quoting me £760 for 3 days plus test on 4th £115. dosent add up, 950 - 4 = £237 a day. now there saying 760 - 3 = £253 a day ? so i’m paying less money overall but the daily rate has gon up by £ 20 ■■? so apying more for each of the 3 days. only cheaper overall if i pass first time too
Sounds like you need to research more training companies in your area. I think you should be putting this to the company in question, maybe they might be able to clear it up? But don’t take their word for it, make up your own mind. Usually training companies will make their decision as to how much training you need by an assessment drive.
However the company I’m currently with (still doing my theory), I haven’t actually had an assement drive yet even though I’ve put a deposit down. This is because they are reccomended on here and someone I work with has just passed their Cat C test first time and are now doing their C+E, so its got good recommendations.
There is a link on here somewhere which has a list of recommended training companies for each area.

Go with someone who is prepared to give you an assessment drive. Sometimes you can get it for free, otherwise the assessment fee is usually refunded when you take the actual course.
All in all mine cost me £600 for my class c, 11 lessons at £40, spread over 10 weeks , then £60 for the test. Not bad me thinks, on to the class c+e next week , with the same ridgit lorry with draw bar trailer, should do ok I hope!
can i just ask how did u get a £60 test? thought dvla was £115 fixed everywhere

bad guess ! done it in the isle of man
I stand corrected.
I knew there had to be a good reason though as standard UK test fee is 115.

I have posted on here a few times and revealed my location, I’m not here to argue or bicker, I’m here like many others, to have my say and gain an insight in to the haulage industry in the uk. My username could be Lewis Hamilton on here, but that doesn’t make me a formula 1 racing driver does it? For all you know I could be from the uk, even if I have Irish in my user name, my surname could be Irish? Who knows
wel its just cost me £1300 for my class2 then same my class1 cos thats the prices over here so unless any1 else on here had done there test at same place as u then its bit usless asking lol
from car to class1 its cost me £3000 for everything
