Corridor Tickets

As you come over the border from belgium to france there is a sign about tickets for non eu vehicles. Anyone know what these are? The aire has been shut for a few years anyway so I’m guessing nobody bothers anymore.

i dont about the tickets but have been told the aire’s are shut due to immigrants.

i think this was to do with the eastern europeans years ago there was no customs on the border and i think they had to get a ticket for what ever reason only ever remeber seeing the eastern europeans at the machine

Someone explained it to me once and as usual I’ve totally forgot. But I think it had something to do with proving point of entry to France.

There was a time when everybody had to get a corridor ticket, you’d get one at Calais when you had your T forms processed and you had one hour to transit the corridor, same going the other way, this was before the motorway was built and the French /Belgian border control was at Ghyvelde by the canal.

But the sign was on the autoroute, not the national.
