cant find the hamburger menu ? is that for telephone users ?
Can the IT guys pleeeease move that green preferences pallet thin away from the blue ply button, yeah I know it means REPLY.
Are you on phone or desktop? What are you trying to do. If you want I wil ltry and talk to you more directly via DMs? I`m no expert but am free for an hour or so. Look near your pink T near the top for a message.
The hamburger menu doesn’t appear to be on the desktop version but as the green icon is in your way I assume you’re on a mobile.
The hamburger menu is there on both the mobile app and the mobile browser.
If you haven’t already see the image I posted in post #30 in this thread.
If the green privacy icon is in the way of the reply button just press inside the reply textbox to open the keyboard and the textbox and the reply button should move up away from that pita green icon.
Good to hear from you again,How’s barge life these days ?

Thanks for the replies, I am on desk top , but to be honest for some reason I am struggling with this site , I will wait to see if any of the complaints / suggestions are acted upon , Its half term so I would expect the kids should get something sorted soon, sure as heck looks like they used 4th year students !!!
Any way , I will try to live with what we’ve got ( just like truck driving ) for the moment
thanks again franglais.
On desktop there are two reply buttons.
Big blue one at the bottom.
Or a smaller grey one to the bottom right of a message. Use that one to reply more directly to message.
But you are reading and making posts, so can`t be all bad.
Ay up manalishi, all good. Unlike Mr Monk, i wimp out in winter on the boat. Though in fairness he doesnt have 4 dogs tramping mud in and out of his boat!
Just tried to upload a photo from off the Thames last year but its not having it.
Something else to work out on the new site.
If you’re on a small monitor and the green Onerust preferences icon is in the way of the reply button you could close the preview screen when replying.
In the bottom right corner of the preview screen you will see two left facing arrow heads (for want of a better description) click those to toggler the preview screen open and closed, when the preview screen is closed the reply box and button moves over to the centre away from the green preferences icon.
Splendid stuff.Looking forward to the pics.Memories beckon of a childhood Norfolk Broads holiday. My grandma crashing the vessel at Swaffham into a dredger, bitterns booming in the rushes, windmills hither and yon.Nothing like canal&broad life.
Bingo ! thanks . 20 characters ? I’ve worked with a few !
I wanted to quote a post but had to cut and paste, can we put quotes in a reply still ?, anyway
I got logged out this afternoon, and buggered if I could get back in , and had to d a password reset yet again, this is getting on my breasts again
on a pc click on the reply button to the bottom right of the post you wish to quote and then in the window that pops up hit the speech bubble on the tool bar at the top of the window that pops up
Aha ! thanks 123456789
Alternatively if you select all or part of a post then click on the reply button connected to that post the selected text will automatically be quoted in the reply textbox.
true i just find my way easier as i have the mouse on my knee. However your way is just as good
Testing, seems to work as described, thanks.
I typically use the speach buble to, but selecting the text before replying is worth knowing about, especially if only a portion of a post is required to be quoted.
I agree that often only a portion of a preceding post should be used rather than the whole post. Saves the reader trawling through too much irrelevant stuff.
It is good there is a quick link to get back to see the original post, (heaven forfend anyone would deliberately misquote!) And if a post is edited, the original is still easily seen.
I wonder what happens if the person being quoted then edits their post with this new system of multiple servers
The edited post is shown, but the original post is still easily available.
Tap on the “edit pencil” on the post to see the changes made.
Edited to add this
