To Robroy-
If you was delayed by snow 2 yrs ago, & delayed due to gales last yr, sorry mate that dosnt even merit a mention has they are exceptions and not the norm. What’s the norm is been delayed daily by the inept planning by the planners who refuse to take into account rush hour traffic in/around cities, road works/ diversion that can be easily researched prior to planning and the fact they on purposely fail to inform the driver in fear that we refuse to stay out. The day us drivers stick to our contractual hrs scares them, imagine if your contracted to say 48hrs a WK, because of all the delays through the WK,by Thursday noon you complete your 48th HR, turn your wagon round and go back to the depot? What a shocker for them to realise your actually adhering to your contract, after all they pay you 48hrs min p.wk so if it’s a common practice to keep you out for 60hrs p.wk that should be with your prior agreement and with the 12hrs extra at overtime rate- they are actually using your precious time so they should pay, just like any other businesses, we are drivers, it is just a businesses and we should be treated just the same as any other employee- same as train drivers delivering freight who have been striking for the exact same working conditions, T&Cs
Well no it didn’t merit a mention you are right.
Well not until he asked me to specify when it was anyway…so I did.
I aint just started this kin mate,.I fully understand the concept of inept planners, I am more or less route planned by a third party, the firm where the stuff is manufactured.
I get proof of pi55 poor planning everytime she sends me (or tries to) to a farm in a 44 tonner, of which the road up is built for horse and carts, and only with a couple of items…bearing in mind they have 4 wheelers and a pick up of their own.
So as for you trying to tell me about bad planning, both routing and times, you are singing to the choir mate.
