Concrete pumps

Simple question, why are they all left hookers?

I always thought it was because it being a specialist piece of plant it wasn’t worth manufacurers making it in right hand drive just for the UK market.
It’s the same for cranes made in Germany costing £3,000,000. Liebehr or similar aren’t going to make one just for UK

I understand that but a lot of the time they are just day cabbed Mercs or ivecos

I could be wrong but I think it’s 'cos the most popular pumps are made abroad & then imported.

Schwing UK is just a distributor for Schwing Germany. This might also explain why most of the pumps I’ve seen are fitted to a Merc chassis, possibly, maybe, perhaps?

Duplicate post.

Schwing??

Gotta be Waynes World!

Good point. The chassis is generic and the plant bit is bolted on, just like concrete mixers. They’re right hand drive.

I’ve often wondered this as well

Question ansewrd id say. There expensive bits of kit, rhd re-sale market is also a small market.

There mostly imported from germany and italy.

Liebherr, schwing, putzmeister, cifa, sermac etc etc.

the first thing that came i to my mind aswell

yes you are all right, pumps are only ever made in germany chassis predominatley merc s chassis is so complex you only want to be messing around with one set up . I think south coast pumps largest weigh in at 56 ton
