‘do the office a favour’ gone sour?
the gall of some people. leaves a load of concreat in the back of a truck then acts supprised he got sacked. If i was the gaffer i would counter sue for damage to the vehicle and loss of earnings
I’ll bet there’s more to it than what we’ve been told. It sounds like an act of revenge. Did he have enough hours left to legally discharge and clean the barrel?
It says “He said he was “exhausted” after 15 hours at work and that he meant to clean out the lorry the following day.”
…15hrs is the legal max under EU rules. It is an Eire company and I assume he was working EU rules.
If he had said on the phone that he would not have had time to clean off after returning, I reckon that would have put the ball in the employers court, but it seems he did say that he would sort it.
how long does it take to tip a load of concrete and swill out the barrel. He must of known it would go off. it also sounds to me that the boss saw the lorry after he brought it back and messaged him telling him to clean it which he agreed to.
Im betting the guy is all bent out of shape because he has caused a few issues for the company and didnt like being told off
probably the best E2000 they ever spent
to get rid of a wayne kerr
The whole case sounds a bit off to me.The strange ‘overfill’ from the start is how it all started.
He should have contacted the guvnor at the delivery point and told him he wouldn’t be able to deliver it and get rid of the excess in his 15 hours.Which leaves the question how much did the overfill cost and who was responsible for it.
Just shows however bad they are, simply sacking them will cost the employer in the end.
