Clarke’s Southampton lot got chucked of Chandlers ford industrial estate for storing hazardous goods with out landlords knowledge (only found out when FLT spiked a drum ) and blocking the entrances to other units and tearing up the verges

Don’t know how thats possible. Our place had to jump through tons of hoops to be allowed to store haz goods.
If you want to go and be a cleaner you crack on and do it I don’t see why it concerns some drivers what other companies are paying, if you are happy with your lot just get on with it because nothing will ever change regardless of the union brigade spouting on about sticking together because that’ll not happen either.

My brother don’t either as he works for GE and it was the unit next door to them
Managed about 6 months at Clarkes. Wouldn’t even go back for £20.74 ph.

Time to learn a new trade I think.
Good idea.
When you find one that pays what you think you are worth for a job that requires two weeks’ training to become employable in that field, please let us know what the hourly rate is.
Just as one enjoyable thread dies down, another is in it’s infancy…
Not many on here could wipe an old mans arse when he ■■■■ himself and clean up the bed like nurses do they deserv every penny and more

What’s the difference between lorry drivers and nurses? Since when was giving a few injections and wiping ■■■ a hard job? We have to put up with high stress isolation and no social life.We also have the benefit of being able to go out work on shift and lose our licenses and go to prison…

Ok. Whilst i have the upmost respect for our overworked nurses and the fantastic job that they do, i offer the following: i for one realise that wiping someone’s arse is just a small part of what a nurse has to put up within in his or her daily shift.
However, Mr Williams does raise a point. Truck drivers are often parked up by 4 o clock in the afternoon , mainly due to retarded transport planners who promise the customer the earth, without a second thought for the truck driver having to spend the night in a ■■■■ ridden service station with a reefer running all night.
But, i also couldn’t wipe someone elses arse.
So who deserves the larger pay rate?
Comments…
Nurses everytime, they even do similar length shifts.

Nurses should get the highest pay if you don’t like being parked up at 4 with a fridge running or having a night out your in the wrong job

Personally I believe nurses, firefighters, police and soldiers all deserve a hell of a lot more than they get. After all, they’re the first people Joe Public call on when the crap hits the fans. Considering how much other public sector workers get, like council officials or social workers etc, it’s quite scandalous how little they get

You’ve given yourself a right showing up there lad. The difference is devoting three/four years of your life to learning the skills to be able to help save someones life where as you’ve spent two weeks learning the skills to allow you to deliver six pallets of frozen chips to a supermarket. Stress? You wouldn’t know stress if it kicked you in that stupid mush of yours.

And if you don’t the give customer what they want, they go to someone who will. Haulage is a service industry and therefore competitive (cut throat). If you want more money learn a trade and get a different job. Big money in haulage either side of the counter is long gone.

You think a nurse won’t go to prison if they make a mistake that kills someone??
If you find isolation stressful I would suggest your in the wrong job. Personally its the isolation that appeals.
although I don’t have time for teachers I do feel sorry for them in this day and age dealing with the youth of today,in my time teachers never took any crap off pupils, throwing blackboard rubbers at you for talking, grabbing you by the hair/ears and kicking you out the class, caning, etc, try doing that nowadays
Why should nurses get more money, like drivers they take the job on knowing what the wage is and like some drivers they then whinge about the poor pay.

Most people can go to work and get sent to prison, you just have to crash your car on the way there
Why do you find it highly stressful?
