the recent closure of the garage in Cobham services was a result of an assault which has now led to a murder charge,we all heard it on the radio,some may have been there,but it turns out that it was a traveller feud,what is it with these people,i read a book on a traveller who was a bareknuckle fighter,he even fought cousins in real life to settle scores,these feuds[think I spelt it right]could go on for years,i know it’s their way of life but surely they must get fed up with all the aggro,they only have to look at each other to start a family feud it seems,but it happened at Cobham,one of them lost his life and now it will go on with the victims family wanting revenge,really don’t know how anyone can live that kind of life,guess they learn to live with it.

Never understood or liked travelers much. I grew up in Milton Keynes and they used to wreck the parts of the city they camped in. If they want to kill each other let them.

When I was working as an agency driver in the ambulance service in Kent a few years ago, the local staff referred to the Travellers as “do-as-you-likeys” and told me they were behind a lot of the metal theft in the area, including manhole removals that had resulted in serious injuries to motorcyclists. It’s telling that prejudice is often greater in areas with less exposure to the minority concerned; with them, it’s greater with exposure.

There’s a big Esso station at Cobham on the A2 in between the M2 and Gravesend, westbound only. Big place with truck pumps and parking bays. There’s also a small truck park opposite which was closed for a while because, so I heard, of Traveller trouble. There’s much less of that in Surrey than in Kent.

There is a daily fail link saying they’re travellers. The heart transplant didn’t fit the bill, but at least some good came from the situation
