Hi, I’ve been a coach driver (part-time/casual) for 20+years and passed my Class 1 (C+E) first time in April 2012. I was hoping that my coach driving experience (transporting live cargo!) safely for many years would help me get into Class 1 work. Alas, no such luck; I’ve signed on with various agencies, but no work yet (2 years Class 1 driving experience required). Is there anyone out there willing to give me a part time/casual Class 1 driving job? I know HGV work is different to coach driving, but driving big vehicles is no problem; I mastered artic reversing, coupling/uncoupling no problem, hence passing my test first time. I’m happy to learn new skills and any help/advice greatly received. Thanks.
