Told to rescue a lad who was going to spend Christmas in the accomodation block behind a Scania garage near the Italian border,a fuel problem in his wagon.I drove nights to get down before all the foreign truck bans would kick in.
Collected him, then he places the dirty laundry and dirty bags on all the bunks,i said i need to sleep,so he could drive then we would swap over.
He said we would both be liable for a fine if i was on the bunk with no seat belt, and the passenger seat was to be used instead of the bunk,of which you can not rest fully.
What is the law on being restrained on a bunk?
Been done to death.
If it is not supplied with a belt you do not have to wear one. But you can still sit on the bunk whilst moving.
Cheers mate.
I dont think it would count as your daily rest mind Toby as the unit is still moving so would put you over your hrs

45 Counts as break, it has a different meaning
Strangely or maybe not so strange, the only mention of “the first 45 minutes of POA being accepted as a break” is VOSA.
No mention at all on the European sites, or indeed on the Eurlex document in English.
Has anyone seen this in writing? Or more to the point has anyone seen it written in French or Spanish
simple answer toby.
