Check Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS)

How do you or can you check the Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) for company you drive for?

The company I currently drive for have a Notice of Public Inquiries to be Held for

S26 - Consideration of disciplinary action under Section 26
S27 - Consideration of disciplinary action under Section 27
S28 - Consideration of disciplinary action under Section 28
Sch.3 - Consideration of Transport Managers Repute under Schedule 3

Is it time to get out and start seeking other employment?

I don’t believe you can and it is only available to the operating licence holder. Obviously if you got friendly with the company TM they might tell you, but that sounds unlikely ?

Revocation, Curtailment and Disqualification as an operator sound fairly serious matters to me. :open_mouth:

That depends if the friendly Transport Manager wants to admit to a driver he is a wrong un,

Definitely time to be looking around, but how did you find out about the NPIs? Did you sign up to the mailing list? (see link) Or did someone in the office talk about it? Doesn’t seem like something that would easily filter down to the workforce

It seems that from a mere drivers POV that earned recognition is the way to go; I got pulled into Beattock pre plague, apologised profusely to and instructed to drive straight out.

Definitely better for us, the company is exempt from OCRS if they’re ER.

That’s because they know your the other fridge driver… And could you stop spreading rumours about my lack of buying you a coffee,to others from our company…

I was shunting so obviously I was in charge. I merely informed him that you’re barred from site unless you get your hand in your pocket!

Is that a threat, or a promise

OCRS only accessible to the licence holder. If you have a look on the As&Ds, there are regular cases similar to your example and they are still in business. Its often a matter of getting back into the system. Sounds interesting that the TM has already left. That may be why or how the company has ended up at a PI. Could be that a new TM brings it all around again.

A public enquiry will likely take a while to setup so likely safe for now, but if they are a ltd company (almost all are) it might be worth looking at their companies house data just to make sure there’s money left.

Also means you can check if any directors have quit. I also found checking the operators licence data is a good way to make sure there aren’t any dodgy changes going on.

Good post Trev, more of us should make use of that to check out our employers.

I was checking out my previous employer just recently, I left because of their dangerous attitude to safety and shoddy vehicle maintenance :imp: It was very gratifying to see they’d only just recently gone into liquidation  Though it’s a bit of a bum deal for swathe of people they owe £13 million to!

Also I can’t help but think there’s a bit of a rouse there to avoid the financial penalties that must surely come in the future once the HSE have finished their investigation into a fatality at one of the company’s other sites… :unamused:

Just echo Zac comment on your post Trev thanks alot for the info

Results of PIs are usually within a few days / weeks of the outcomes.
remember a company doesn’t need to submit their financial until the end of their tax year, and even then, like people doing their self-assessments, they are often late or delayed. For example, if you do a check in October and they had submitted their finances in October last year, you might be looking at at least a year old accounts.
As for directors, even though changes should be notified within 14 days and typically updated within 10-14 days, thats one of the most likely thing a company forget to do.
