Charging a GoPro with 24v

Hi folks,
Just wondering if you can use 24v for charging a GoPro? Don’t want to go plugging it in and knackering it up if it will only take 12v.
Thanks SB.

Sure you’ve already worked it out, by I use the SJCAM (cheap gopro clone), this charges via usb, im guessing the gopro is the same, any USB adapter will show input voltage, aslong as that covers 24v then youll be fine as it changes the voltage down to 5v or whatever it is

Thanks for the reply and yes I’ve already figured it out. I’m now able to film for more than an hour without the battery going flat.

Just out of interest what sort of stuff are you filming? I’m running out of ideas for mine

I’ve been doing a lot of night time lapse lately just about sunrise and sunset. As I’m sure you’ll know this kills your battery. I’ve also been experimenting with camera position, trying the back of the cab/roof trailer and also mounting underneath the trailer. It always amazes me when you go to check if it’s still there and it is![emoji3]

I’ve got a few tethers I like to use ‘just in case’. Their amazingly versatile for the size, got a new case for mine last week helps keep everything together when out and about.

Think the next time I head down into the big smoke I might mount it with a near side mirror shot see how much it picks up that I don’t.
