Registered with majority of the major recruitment agencies in central scotland (blue arrow, nas, recruitment direct, first personnel, adr network) the majority of them advertised in the last 2 weeks for class 2 drivers, yet not had any calls all week, chased them most saying their expecting it to pick up, anyone think these agencies just advertise for the sake of it even when there’s no actual positions going?
Yeh, seems pretty dead! I’m not a newbie either had my license 4 years and driven loadsa motors including refuse, fridge, tail lifts, curtain sides, tippers! Just frustrating seeing ads and getting hopes up
You might as well be registered with all of the agencies that you can think of.The economy is in a bad way but should pick up in late May.Manpower in Grangemouth handle the Royal Mail contract good work if you can get it.

“We have started to recruit again for Class 1/2 drivers. If you or someone you know is looking for full/part time work, call Target on 01324 670033.Thanks Sharon”
The above is a text I got from Target a couple of weeks ago. I havent worked for them for 2 years, but still get texts. Looks like they are looking.
Don’t know why this original poster pm’d me regarding vacancies as me a new pass recently (june 2015) looking for advice on looking for work?.
Anyway new passes avoid target recruitment falkirk they will rob you from hours worked , shifts worked anything they can get there sticky paws on . Not worth the hassle .
Target was the first agency I went to as a newbie, never heard back from them.
Blue Arrow was the second… same story.
Recruitment Direct was the third, had me out the very same night, and had me few days a week
After a few months experience in a full time job, I went to Redline recruitment and they had me kept going for the few weeks I was there.

In the Midlands yes & it is probably the same anywhere else. I have come across a number a agencies advertising for immediate starts , & on phoning they have no vacancies & say they will give you a call when things pick up. If you remind them of the wording of the add being immediate, they go into a confused state & struggle to give a sensible reply!

TTS 24/7 might be worth a shout. Think their looking for drivers for Lidl (by the sound of the job anyway) just now. Part of CTTS, and take on recent passes. DriveHire are looking too if the text I got has any truth. Not done any agency work, full-time class1 since passing.
Any good ones in the Falkirk area ? I was at a employment fair as part of me leaving the Army and Pertemps were all for taking drivers. Phoned them up today and said I’ll get the Falkirk/Livingston branch to phone you (no call) then phoned them myself and the guy on the phone said they would phone in 20 min (no call). Bit of a ■■■■ take really, so does anyone know any agency’s in Falkirk/central belt taking on drivers ? Not bothered how crap the jobs are.
