A quick question, when given an address in France, what does “Cedex” mean when stuck on the end of it??
My understanding was that it indicated some sort of Industrial area or something!!..anyone know “for sure”■■

Hi bullitt, I always treated France as a learge ‘T’ junction…
You drive so far down it, then turn left for Italy, or right for Spain. 
My (very limited) knowledge of French lets me recall that I’ve seen the letters ‘ZI’ in addresses and when I aksed, I was told that they mean Zone Industrielle [sp?] or industrial estate.
I must admit that I’ve also seen ‘CEDEX’ written in some French addresses, but, like you, I’m now awaiting a good answer from one of our French speakers.
It’s what Wheel Nut said, Courrier d’Entreprise à Distribution EXceptionnelle and it’s a postal thing used for companies or organisations who receive a lot of mail.
Wow…cheers for the prompt replies chaps, the postal thing sounds about right then. As DD said, we have all seen the ZI signs but I was curious about the CEDEX on the end of an address.
