Can anyone please tell me what are the legalities when you have a CB Radio in the cab. Is it the same as using a mobile phone when driving? The police and ambulance drivers use them when driving.
It’s legal. For the purposes of the law a two-way radio is different from a mobile phone. However, there is always the catch-all of due care and attention which you can fall foul of for doing just about anything whilst driving.
As always, common sense is the key.
2 way radios/ cb radios are exempt from the mobile phone law and can be used when driving but you still need to be careful you don’t do anything silly whilst on there or else you’ll get nabbed for dangerous driving.
