Cb radio shops in Spain

Any drivers know of any radio shops I’m looking for a decent radio am fm ssb also a good mount that can be mountedon the drivers door and a tech that can tune an antenna and get a good ground also. The Spanish and Portuguese drivers seem to get out very well

Try the border at La Jonquera, plenty of truckers shops down the little alleys and near the fuel stations and large restaurants.

I’ve got a cobra cb for sale, It cost £350 some years back.

Never used to see to many CBs for sale in Spain. A couple of shops at the borders and the odd garage but not that plentiful and always more expensive than in neighbouring France. Maybe ask a Spanish driver, if you can find one, because most trucks are equipped and they do seen to get out well.

Not sure where your travels will take you but nearly every diesel stop and routier in France used to sell CBs, mostly President stuff wich has always been good quality. Italy was also a good place although a little more expensive, pre Euro. Midland is the popular brand here and plenty of big “boots” available for those who feel the need.

Just to add that FM, AM, SSB sets are fairly easy to get hold of these here in the UK or via the Internet. UK sold ones can be restricted to midband or European frequencies but it’s usually a simple job to open them up to export spec and most sellers will do it if requested.

Have a look here:-

These guys are really helpful and competitively priced. They sell through eBay but if you buy direct you can usually negotiate a discount equivalent to the ebay seller fees.

Didn’t you tell us that the border at La Joquera was bandit country recently?
So if you park there n go down a few of those little alleys etc, to find the right piece of equipment. By the time you get back to your truck with your newly acquired CB, you’re unlikely to have much truck left to put it in?

Maybe pay someone to guard the lorry while shopping.

yes, that is a very good idea. find a ■■■■■■■■■■■■, go up to the shady looking chap standing on the corner for no obvious reason, or maybe one of those very friendly girls from all the little rural villages in the balkans and hand him/her a fiver, while almost yelling to them in a very basic english :“I go shop-shop long time, you watch lorry, no thievy-thievy, ok?”

should work just fine.

Youve just given me my first chuckle of the day milodon! :grimacing:

A mannequin disguised as a second driver is an idea to deter would be cab robbers.Dress the dummy to look like a driver.

or you can get a doberman to guard the cab 24/7. you might still get robbed, if the doberman was bred in a romanian kennel and the guy looking to empty your cab was the breeders brother! you’ll still need the blow-up doll then, in case the dobermans breeders brother is a bit blind :open_mouth:

Sensible drivers use a blow-up rubber dolly. Dual purpose. Second man/security guard as needed and saves yer a fortune instead of those clubs n bars :open_mouth: , or so I’m told

I thought all drivers were dressed like dummys
