WTF, was his ex wife driving the bus? Surely anyone who could get up after that would be walking / running over to the driver to have a little dialogue not off into the pub.

Looks to me that clearly the bus was travelling way too fast for he road and conditions and looks like it was headed for the street furniture anyway unless that was the drivers attempt at avoiding the pedestrian.
The bus company are conducting an internal investigation, so they should be. I am surprised the bus driver has not been arrested he/she could have killed that guy or anyone else on the pavement.
