There are two recalls active on Cascadia’s at the moment, the first is for the air tank mountings which they recon will rust through and snap
I have yet to see a Cascadia so old it has any rust on it FFS.
The second and more of a pain is the grease line that runs inside the clutch housing, the have found some that have broken off and ruined the clutch so all are being checked. My mate has the next truck to mine numericaly and his was inspected last week and put out of service for 2 days while Frieghtliner did the fix, I took mine in this morning and was told in their own words that I was a member of the ‘Lucky ■■■■■■■ club’ as mine was ok
Bit of a tense situation though… I could see that old Columbia sitting grinning at me just like the replacement cars on Top gear trips
they should just be put out of service full stop lmaoo
I’ve had 3 Cascadia’s in Canada so far and without wishing to tempt fait, I’ve found them to be a good solid and reliable workhorse with a very nice cab and plenty of storage. Obviously they’re obsolete compared to what we’re used to in Europe but for over here I’m more than happy to have a Cascadia. Mind, I’ve never had one with adblue/DEF but I’d imagine problems with that will be the same on all makes of truck/engine.
robinhood_1984, you mention the now mandatory Adblue/DEF so that ■■■■■■■■ and Cat engines have only recently been adapted to run with it and up till now have had Peterbilts with ■■■■■■■■ which are always in the shop with engine problems although one new one has the MX engine the same as a Daf 105 but we have just got 5 new Volvos with the D13 engine which is the same as the european versions who have had Adblue since 06 so hopefully we should not have any probs.

Yeah, good luck with that
I nipped into our Albany terminal yesterday to top off the DEF, it took 3.8 gallons. I wandered into the shop to borrow a pen and log the amount down, the workshop foreman gave me a pen and I entered the 3.8 gallons, he then laughed, took the clip board and changed me entry to 8.8 gallons because in his own words “I need to adjust the inventory” and laughed, however he must have soon after entered the amount in the computer system because 3 hours later I get a message on peoplenet telling me the truck is using an excesive amount of DEF and run into Albany to have the system checked ASAP
