When driving a company veh are you bound by law to carry your licence ■■? I was told by a member of the uniformed brigade that you must but unsure of the ins and outs??
No. The law requires you to be able to produce your licence, if you are driving, when requested by a police officer. To not produce it is an offence but the first way of dealing with the offence is to issue you a ‘Producer’ giving you seven days to take your licence to the police station of your choice.
That’s the same regardless of the vehicle you are driving, private or company. Some police forces advise against carrying your licence and other motoring documents at all times and have information to that effect on their websites.

It’s actually always been a legal requirement to carry your licence when driving or riding a motorcycle. The law has always allowed a notice of grace where you MAY be permitted to produce your licence at a later date where by failure to do so by this date you may be then prosecuted.
That doesn’t make it any clearer. Lol
Does anyone get a ‘producer’ these days
With modern tech the cops simply check all via data links at the roadside
