Carryfast's fantasy Jaguar

To add I think The Gumball Rally was actually done better than Bullit. The 427 Cobra v Ferrari Daytona match was epic including the awesome scenes and sound of the Daytona leaving NYC in the opening scenes.

It’s documented that the Bullit film crew obtained more than one of each of both the Charger and the Mustang.Automatics are said to have been used for the street scenes involving the actors.
While much of the sound recording in the film chase scenes don’t actually match what’s happening on screen. With at least one gearshift recorded on sound while both McQueen’s hands are shown on the wheel.
While the recorded sound of the ‘390’ at least arguably sounds more like a tripower 435 427 Corvette running with side pipes in both the slow and high speed scenes.

I’m quite happy to answer that, for you, but I think you already know the answer.
I don’t really want to see you launch into another circuitous wafflefest, trying to purport your expertise at everything.

My picture is already on here, somewhere.

Nah nah not having that …
Dont you be copping out SDU.

We will settle for nothing less than a full frontal (or is it full facial ) shot on the other thread I made.

To add that old BMW E3 3.0 Si very nearly got a 3.5 litre M88 M5 engine and 5 speed box dropped in it.But decided that less than 300 hp wasn’t worth the cost and effort.

Sounds as credible as your idea that creating a quick 4 door saloon with standard interior and no roll cage, for euro touring and non competitive track use, means a Tom Walkinshaw wannabe.
Although that Group A XJS could have gone even quicker at Bathurst if he could have homologated a 6.0 litre motor for it.
But thanks anyway you’ve re ignited my interest in putting it back on the road again which might after all have saved it from the crusher.

Getting back to the core matter of the combination of Jaguar V12 and ITB induction and manual transmission. This is the 5.3 litre starting point. Then it just gets quicker and more RR Merlin like sound not less.

If you play nice, I might find a treat for you.
Can you promise Carryfast is not going to put a contract on me, or use my mug shot on his passport?

If ifs and ands were pots and pans. . .
It couldn’t beat the Falcons or Holdens, like a Volvo wagon did.

WTF are you on about now?

Maybe I missed the bit where it was overtaken by a Holden or Ford let alone a Volvo.

‘‘Carryfast likes to pretend he has the skills of Tom Walkinshaw’’ just because I built the XJ12 as Jaguar should have offered it.
By your logic every BMW M5 customer is a wannabe Hans Stuck.
Obviously even now in Germany it’s still possible to be overtaken at 160 mph by something going quicker with no cars being impounded for the privilege.
Remind me what was that exact result of the 1985 Bathurst race ?.

I’ve been mucking about with AI on my new phone, I’ve managed to remove the surrounding area from work and replace it.
