We simply can’t afford to lose Carryfast, fact. He sorted various folk out regarding their sheeting and roping errors, presumably he attended ROF’s course, corrected Punchy Dan about how he was towing a badly loaded trailer so Dan can now be confident he is doing everything right now, taught us all about the internal workings of numerous engines incorrectly designed (Detroit Diesels excepted) and that’s without his intimate knowledge of various Government issues etc. We need somebody with his undoubted skills to put us right (although he hasn’t started on correcting us tipper men yet, give him time though!) so leave the poor old lad alone.
Good to see sensible heads prevail, if you don’t like a particular poster then block them, it’s that easy.
As far as Carryfast goes, he just needs to calm down a bit, I believe that he is an asset to a lot of threads he participates in as he quite often gets much more information revealed as people try to shut him up, unfortunately the other side of that coin is that his machine gun response style is too much for other people and they bow out gracefully and their valuable input is lost.
Personally he drives me up the wall at times, but he would be my first pick of trucknetuk members to go for a pint with, not because we could have a punch up in the car park either. Mind you if he mentions bore and stroke ratios I would strangle him [emoji846]
Dipster:
Of course the OP might have been CF himself posting under a false flag to see what reaction it caused…
I’ve been monitoring his posts for ages. There is no malice in CF’s posts. His record for attacking the post rather than attacking the poster is almost impeccable! A good example to other posters, then.
Bewick:
I haven’t been away I only kicked the Bewick thread into touch.
C’mon on then Dennis, tell us why you would even do that ?..If only just to satisfy MY curiousity
One guy started a thread on it, and even thought you were dead ffs
As for CF?..where do I start.
A guy who claims to know everything about…well, everything really. (as we all could now that there’s Google to back it up )
I’ll never forget him trying to give me life coaching advice on here, after telling me (and criticising ) what I SHOULD have done, years ago, and where I went wrong … after my business went down the crapper, losing my house and faced with having to provide for and re.house my wife and kids.
THEN I discovered most if his safe career was driving for the local council whilst NEVER leaving his parent’s home to date.
Draw your own conclusions as to what mine were on his ‘‘Advice qualifications’’ .
Anyhow, why would anybody want him off here, he’s harmless.
Edit:
Btw…I think the clue to the o/p is on the Buffalo thread on the Old Timers forum.
No Carryfast ain’t professing to be an expert on indigenous wild mammals of the United States (this time ) , it’s a thread about old Leylands.
ChrisArbon:
I can see where Les is coming from. Take the Leyland Buffalo thread; I don’t think C/F has ever driven one yet he posts so much on there. I drove a Buffalo for two years and thought I might contribute a bit but now C/F has got his teeth into it, I just scroll on by. I think it is a bit harsh to throw the man off the forum; ignore him and click on the more worthwhile contributors… I still miss Saviem.
My sentiments entirely Chris, scroll on by if you don’t want to read his input, and as you say think we all miss Saviem as there was a man with a vast knowledge of the transport Industry and was always willing to share that knowledge with all may he rest in piece greatly missed, Buzzer.
PS. Welcome back Dennis thought speaking about your long tome adversary would draw you back.
dieseldave:
Somethimes, mention is made that Carryfast posts off-topic stuff, so since your post is of the Feedback type, I’ve moved it to the appropriate forum because the content of it isn’t even remotely connected with the Old Time forum where you posted it.
Hiya Dave, Carryfast seems to post as much, if not more on the main forum, so what about tagging this thread on to there also?
Just so the younger fresh faced drivers (like me in fact ) can give their view on it…instead of all these old buggers.on the Old timers forum.
peggydeckboy:
WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON ■■?ALL I SEE IS CARRYFAST OUT OF TRUCKNET who, what ,why, someone please explain and i like the straight talking no pussing around,do they mean the man with the fictitious name like carry fast we have all got them ,well not quite all
im sure the MODERATORS WILL SORT WHATEVER OUT.
When the guys a pain in the but.
He’s a forum member, he’s entitled to contribute on the forum, if what he posts doesn’t meet with your approval…that’s ‘unfortunate’, AND you have a simple solution at your disposal…don’t read what he posts, it’s easy, ignore him.
A good proportion of CF’s contributions are certainly “left field”, and different, but sometimes his contributions are thought-provoking and useful. As someone once said “I might disagree with what you say but I will always defend your right to say it” or words to that effect that I totally agree with.
Well done Les P , i know it was a ploy to get Bewick back , he couldn`t resist commenting on his old prodigy CF and of course they go back a long way . Dennis first met CF when he delivered to Remploy in Leatherhead , where CF was in charge of the sweeping brush .
Also where’s his best mate and like minded side kick Winseer?
He ain’t been on since he implied to me and everybody else he was suicidal
Then refuted it, and back pedaled faster than a clown on a uni cycle when I tackled him about it.
He either has topped himself, or is locked in his home made nuclear bunker under the stairs.

I accepted a long while ago that my mate CF was the only Soldier in the TN Regiment that marched in time and he will never change !
Now i know, thank you ,unfounded twaddle, just because the man had a left handed broom ,no need to victimize him,and sold pegs on his kerb length around LEATHERHEAD .
I like a mess room lawyer, who knows all ,nicknamed “wobble gob” power to you my man.many more wind up posts to come from you,DBP
