Ta for that transporterman.
Now going back a bit again, Carfax Transporters, same load going around for photo shoots. I remember them but can’t think where they were based.

Great photo’s again oiltreader, when Yorks took over Carrimore this trailer was supposed to be the answer to the Hoynor Mk 7, needless to say it was no match

Carfax were based at Brackley, a small yard, good bunch of drivers, I’m scratching my head, trying to think of Dave? who took over at Milton Keynes for Ray Smith’s latest venture late 80’s ?

Hi Bojangles don’t know if you know but Ray retired last year when STVA took over Automove, he still working,I think part time, ferrying for the Cruise Parks.
Minster Motors still trading since 1966, same family ownership. Maybe small but surviving.

John Collinson was also involved with Carfax and Ray Smith, I think he is dealer principle at the Renault Truck agency in Grimsby

Hi iangam more good photo’s you have a good mixture of weired and wonderful trailers how things have changed
First trailer behind the TK was i think a carrimore, then we have carter engineering behind the D series, followed by three different yorks, the last picture was a bus chassis trailer converted to car transporter when the new order was cancelled and york didn’t know what else to do. WEX has a Hoynor mk7 on it but you can really see it in the picture.

Yes that is a Carrimore Mk2 behind the TK it has been extended at the front end the regulations changed and the lengths went up by 5’ The truck standing next to WEX is another Carrimore single axle it was designated the SAYCO (single axle cars only) this was Carrimores answer to the Hoynor Mk2 which was selling well & was cheap & simple. It was never a hit.
I often wonder what my father would think about the new transporters that are been used now if he came back I think you have probably thought the same.
Hope youve had a better week this week than last.
this is a photo of the walon iveco i fell off, when the post snapped i had a wheel strap in my hand, which when i fell helped to break my fall.■■■■ knows what might have happened if i was’nt holding that strap.still damaged my back and knee though.the safety fence post was just held on by rust.
when the paramedics put me in the ambulance, they did’nt lock the stretcher in and when they set off it took off backwards, luckily the back doors did’nt fly open,or i would’nt have known who to sue first.the paramedics(both lasses)were ■■■■■■■ themselves laughing,i could’nt see the funny side at the time.
i was only using this wagon for the day cos mine was off the road.
a photo of the rolfo vvff i had on contract to walon delivering bmw’s.it was a cracking wagon,it was slightly different to walons rolfo’s as it was euro spec.the a frame was on a screw you could stretch it out a metre.
Glenny have a look on the Peter Slater thread there is a chinese six that may be of interest to you, It has a Nothumberland Reg, Regards Larry
This is a cracking thread, still no Mortons (BRS) though or early Silcock & Collins
My Abbey Hill Days at Sheerness on Hyundai Contract with my Detroit Bedford TM in 1980’s
.
Then happy days on AA for European Recovery. This photo was in Austria.
Loading my Renault Premium in Calais.
Same Renault Premium in Ontime Livery. I got TUPE’d to Ontime when they took over AA Contract. Taking a load of LDV chassis to France. Sadly LDV now long gone…
Loaded at Ontime with Lotus cars for UK delivery.
Ontime recovery from Alps. French did not bat an eyelid about length even when I got checked for clandestines, booze and cigarettes onthe way back. I did unload/reload at Calais though before coming back into UK !
Great pictures flowing on here. I had a look at this website, thinking to post photos but their Privacy Policy claims copyright on text and graphics, so visit yourself, very interesting. Previously Hoynor.
