Have to show these two photos( courtousy of Ken glendinning )this was a brilliant idea of utilising trailers to carry general haulage and cars, but it was in the days when unions had a say in the matter, but would probably work now

Peter I know you are probably watching E S Truck & Trailers now just getting into training for when you appear in the next series, but have you seen the video Glendinning version on the drivers face book staring Tony Usher as Mark Dixon. It was the Up North Programe fron around 1990 about updates on the AI.

Your right about the cardi the other one in Normans was John Bousted one of the fitters from Durham. The total programe was 30mins I struggled to get it on, will probably put it on in another 3 parts. From memory Bill Whyte was going to do it as it was considered he was the best looking driver & nothing to do with the fact he had the new draw-bar, but the load he was picking up fell through, Tony just happened to be there at the right time. It was originally going to be John Dee featured but they had to pull out a few days before it was filmed.

hi adr,
was that picture of the challenger taken at purfleet?
we got them there to do a night trunk to portbury, drop and pick up, but they were never used as they were designed as i dont think they ever dropped one trailer in practice.they were also to be used to collect cars from the continent but that never happened either.
cheers steve.
