Great pictures there oiltreader and that video is fascinating. keep them coming

On the subject of that video from Gloucester, My Nephew in the USA cleaned it up for me, because my Dad use to drive one of those Commers for BRS (Furness & Parker) in the 50’s/ 60’s, I’ll see if I can find it and post it.

My dad used to have one of those commers, afour legger for leech builders. I was only a youngun at the time and i went to work with him one day, and i can vaguely remember he was giving it some down a hill to get up the other side, then mr plod gave him a tug. Apparantly there were so many sparks coming from the exhaust it looked as though it was on fire.

this is the lohr ehr 300 i had at walon when pulling out of bmw thorne,it only had just over 80,000k’s when i got it at exactly a year old.apparentlyit stood at kirk sandal after it came,it was forgotten about, for over a month it stood ,until a day mans wagon broke down,he was told there was no spare wagons,so he asked about the new one in the yard.the office did’nt know it was there.
KOE was used as a spare motor until i got it,just goes to show bmw traffic was always the best gear, mind you walon had all the traffic then.

That day man was me!!

I thought they were joking when they said it wasn’t there and I was stood on the decks when I rang them.

Now going back a bit again, Carfax Transporters, same load going around for photo shoots. I remember them but can’t think where they were based.
oiltreader

Could be Bicester or Brackley I think I can remember seeing them from the road near a railway bridge

Carfax were based at Brackley, a small yard, good bunch of drivers, I’m scratching my head, trying to think of Dave? who took over at Milton Keynes for Ray Smith’s latest venture late 80’s ?

Dave Carpenter. They were at Brackley and one of the pics is at the old top station. Do I need to add my ole pics from the other transporter thread?

oiltreader:
A GEFCO, a Boyds and a CAM Group.
