Cantrell haulage

Sure I remember the Bristol drivers, got stuck in Nice with a couple of them when French customs went on strike at Ventimilgia. One of the Bristol boys, I think his name was Dave, fell asleep on a lilo and suffered bad sunstroke. We ran together at least as far as Bulgi.
My name is Dave Blackledge and used to drive Cantrells FB 88 that was in black and yellow as it was originally a JC Gerrard vehicle, I was usually accompanied by Bill Sallis, a Liverpool boy, who drove Cantrells Scammell Crusader.Great days

Is there anybody on here who worked there in the 70.s who remembers the boys from Bristol. We were running the middle east with man trucks with tilts. Do you have any photos or good memories that you want to share.Cheers

Can anybody remember seeing a red London double decker bus in the compound at Kapic which was there for years and did anybody ever get their truck back once it went in there :unamused: .

Tehran circa 1973

I wouldn’t mind rescuing a few of those classics now ! Shame that the Capri looked repainted, and not in the original Saluki bronze !
