I can’t download photos from my phone to tnuk a message comes up " the photo is invalid " why is this as I could do it perfectly ok with my old phone. I’ve got camera set to the lowest pixel level but still no joy, my phone is a HTC one if that makes a difference.
I even phoned the Geek squad and they didn’t come up with much either so hopefully someone on here might know, thanks.
Is it saving to SD card or Phone memory if its an old memory card you have put in from old phone format it in the new phone then try.
As far as I’m aware there’s no maximum limit on the photo size (pixel size) the only limits I know of are on file size and file format.
-
Download the photo to your computer and check the file size, TrucknetUK attachments have a limit of 2 MB, as far as I can remember any image over 2 MB will get the invalid photo message.
-
Check that the image is in the correct format, I believe TrucknetUK attachments can be in either JPG, GIF or PNG format.

Jpeg is the format but the size appears to be 4 mb which you think is too big, maybe i can download some kind of resizing app.
By the way i can download it to the home pc then onto trucknet it’s just my phone giving me grief
I take it you are trying to upload the images as attachments?
If so I don’t know what you’re doing with the image but I’m pretty certain that you can’t upload a 4 MB jpg to TN as an attachment either from your phone or your computer
I’ve just tried to upload a 2.9MB image and couldn’t do it, I once tried to see what was possible and I’m pretty sure that 2 MB was the maximum allowed as an attachment.
Right click on the image on your computer and check the file size, it could be that if you’re using a software program to download the image from the phone to the computer the image quality is being downsized by the software you’re using.
edit:
Alternatively you could try taking a photo in a lower quality and see if you can upload that to TrucknetUK as an attachment.
I have reduced the resolution to its lowest level and still no good.
I take it the photos are still coming out at over 2 MB?
If that’s the case then you probably need to reduce the quality of the photos.
Your phone is a bit different to mine but on my HTC HD2 in camera Settings/Advanced there’s an option for Resolution and on the next page there’s an option for Quality, on my phone there are quality settings for Basic, Normal, Fine and Super Fine, there’s a big difference in file size between Basic and Super Fine, in fact the file size of the super Fine image is nearly twice that of the Basic no matter what the resolution is set at.
My guess is that you need to find a quality that will reduce the photo size to bellow 2 MB, to be honest I imagine even the lowest quality on your phone is likely to produce a photo that’s more than good enough but it’s a matter of trial and error really, start with a low quality and see how high you can go before the photo becomes to large to upload to TrucknetUK.
It’s got to be trying anyway
edit:
I’ve just looked at the instruction manual for your phone and can’t find any settings for quality so I’m stumped I’m afraid
I’ve changed to the lowest resolution and still no good, I’ve tried resizing still no good I think
I’ll have to leave it now thanks I don’t know what else to do but thanks anyway Tacho.
